Meet Chris

Chris Voccio

Chris Voccio grew up in Johnston, RI, graduating from Johnston High School in 1985 and Bryant University in 1989.

His newspaper career started at the Providence Journal. He later worked at newspapers in Florida, Texas, Kentucky, and Indiana, before taking the helm of The Tribune-Democrat in 2004.

During his time in Johnstown he helped change the tone of the newspaper, started Johnstown Magazine, and helped develop many new community events and programs. He served on numerous board and committees throughout the region and earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from IUP in 2006.

He lives in Upper Yoder Township, where he can be found riding his motorcycle or ATV, managing his small business, and occasionally soaring above the region in a little single engine Piper.
