This article is a must read for anyone concerned with the future of Greater Johnstown and Pennsylvania as a whole.

Philadelphia magazine (www.PhillyMag.com), a magazine that Johnstown Magazine would sometimes aspire to, at least when I was at the helm, is a great city magazine.

In the February issue there’s a profile on unions in the city. Titled “The Last Union Town”, it does a good job of highlighting one of the many reasons why it’s so difficult to create jobs in Pennsylvania.

The article is lengthy and deep, as many city magazine articles are, but it is worthwhile reading it.

Add to this an oppressive tax and regulatory buren, and it’s easy to see why it’s so difficult to do business here.
