Big government eats your lunch 2/17/2008
Today’s Tribune-Review contains an article that really helps explain why I’m running for the PA House.
As you probably know, one of my themes is Less Government, Lower Taxes, and More Jobs.
The article in the T-R points out that while the state’s economy grew 20% from 1997 to 2006, the state’s budget increased by a whopping 50%. The government has been growing faster than the economy as a whole, meaning we’re feeding the beast at a much greater rate than we can afford.
I believe we need to put government on a diet, and I’m not the only one who believes that. I blogged a week or so ago about the Commonwealth Foundation’s new www.PaDietPlan.com report, and encouraged you to take a look at it.
Just yesterday the full report arrived in my mailbox, and it’s a real eye opener. I again encourage you to go to the web site www.PADietPlan.com and check it out.
